I saw some video of that Bictor Wooten guy Vs Some drummer.. It was awesome.. the drum would play a beat, then Victor would match up to that with his bass.
Then victor played a complicated riff, and the drummer matched it on drums.
Brilliant!

I have a fender Precision at the mo' but Im thinking about buying a new one after xmas.

I've just realised how sweet maidens basslines are.
Does maiden's bassist use his fingers, or a pick?

Depends on what kind of bass you're looking for - my personal recommendation is Schecter. Affordable, kick ass, and they take a BEATING.
If you want to stick with Fender, may I suggest the Fender Aerodyne? It's reasonably priced, and it's got killer sound. It was my second choice after my Schecter - and if the Schecter didn't beat it out in the price margins, it would've been an even tougher choice!

I'm inclined to think a little bit of both. I remember reading that Maiden's bassist writes a lot of the material for the band - so it'd make sense that he would have uber-sweet basslines for himself.

Excuse my english, It may be approximative, I'm french.
I've just bought Trivium's Ascendancy and it's great, It was a long time since I heard somethin' like that.
Thank you Trivium !!!
And yes Bassists rule, Ego Guitarists sucks
We, bassists, are those who make a song what it is, not a succession of riffs  (kiddin', dont hit me)
Keep goin' !!!
