Ease of use and organization are two essentials for me that lead to a good creative flow; clutter and complication simply stop up creativity and aggravate. I need the ability to go in and out of combinations of sounds quickly and with ease. In big studio settings, there are typically clusters of heads, cabs, pedals, mics, rooms, instruments, etc. that create a messy environment to work in. With MainStage and Logic, many of the best sounds have been modeled very closely and accurately to the originals but without all of the enormous amounts of gear and clutter. As amazing as it is to have the real thing swapping in and out, I prefer modeling when it comes to writing and recording.
