Devlin Guitars Endorsment Contract
September 16, 2009 1:58:04 AM UTC Post #1

I just got a message about an endorsment contract from Devlin Guitars and I might get one. I just hope I'm not getting ripped off. Who knows anything about endorsment contracts that might be useful to me?

Ok.

Basically, try one of their guitars out, see if it suits you. If you like it, go for it.
l'edit: Just looked up the company, and my first impression was "eww". Just so you know.

That was my first thought. I mean, are you in a band? Are you signed? If not, then I don't see why a guitar company would want to endorse you.

I'm solo now and I have been doing some gigs but its mainly because my youtube account has over 30,000 views. I use my Devlin Flame guitar in everyone of those videos and on my old Free Bird cover alot of people commented abou tmy guitar so I think they liked all of that. Plus I have a website that gets somewhere around 30 hits a day that I could promote them on.

fuck man, i had over 100,000 hits on the northern winter live videos before i took them off and I never got offered shit, lol.
if they re offering you a contract, i'm assuming your under 18 based on your avatar, you'll have to have a parent sign on your behalf and they will have to set a trust fund up for any monies you might make from this contract. if i'm right in thinking, the contract will be along the lines of "if you use our guitars only in public then you can buy them for cost price" which is how most endorsements work unless you're a platinum selling guitarist. i'd get a solicitor to have a look over it, one who specialises in media/music law if possible.

I call bullshit. I've just visited your page and it says the account has been closed.
I believe you are another badly programmed bot.

A "bot" may be taking it too far there

yeah it does seem a bit odd, i also searched for a free bird cover with around 30,000 plays, which is non existant.
