Finding Ascendancy...
September 15, 2009 11:48:59 PM UTC Post #1

After learning, Ignition, Detonation, Entrance, Anthem, Unrepentant, Sadness, To The Rats and parts of The Crusade on guitar, I'm finding that some Ascendancy riffs are harder to play than The Crusade; as in technical.
I always saw The Crusade as the dominating riff album but wow.
Maybe I just suck xD

na trivium play with such technical shit that its really hard. just keep going at it and you will get there. pull harderi not too hard until the solo so id sugest that one first. im a drummer but i can play the intro and verse and chorus. keep going its the only way to go

I prefer the riffs on Ascendancy to that of ANY other metal album to date. They sum up my playing style completely. Maybe thats just because I learnt proper guitar by playing that album lol.
But yea, some decent riffs and some mindblowing solos in there. Hardest riff is Suffocating Sight, easiest is Dying In Your Arms. Hardest solos are Gunshot and Pull Harder, easiest is Ascendancy and Rain.

Its hard as crap to find a lefty 7-string for a cheap price. :/

For some reason, I find playing the older songs more fun than the new stuff.
