Ive pretty much got insurrection as good as i can play it but i don't know what scale is used in the solo, can anyone tell me, im pretty sure its some kind of e minor like harmonic or it might be one of the modes but either way someone please HELP ME thanks in advance :D |

I think the breakdown is E Phrygian Dominant, which is the 5th mode of the A Harmonic minor. And some of the other riffs use a lot from the A minor. So i'd go with that. Im sure the first 4 notes of Matt's solo are A/Ab/F/E which would use the harmonic. But you dont need to limit yourself to just that. Look up E Phrygian and E Phrygian Dominant man, that should give you some nice shit to jam over it too

As Kris has stated above, the song is in the key of E phrygian. You'll also notice the solos are written in A minor/A harmonic minor, which is basically the same thing as E phrygian. _______________________________

Thanks guys... ive only been playing for three years, so ive got squealies and stuff like that down but my teacher only just started teaching me the modes |
