Matt Heafy comments on Family Values tour...
September 16, 2009 1:56:18 AM UTC Post #1

“Over the past 3 years Trivium has had the pleasure and honor of touring, supporting, as well as headlining many diverse tours and festivals along with so many different bands, so being invited by Korn to play this years Family Values 2007 tour and get out in front of a diverse crowd and play is going to rock.
This tour is a chance for us to finally be able to play for Trivium fans that may have never had the ability to see us before as well as other people who may not normally get to go to metal shows.
What a great opportunity for us to play with one of the bands some of us grew up with – Korn, we had the honor of supporting Korn last June at the Download Festival in the UK.
Korn was one of the first bands I was into as a kid. I bought the first family values DVD back in the day (I know I wasn't the only one!). For a lot of the younger fans out there these big summer tours open doors to different music genres. At the end of the day, if we can help get some new kids into metal then that is awesome.
So anyways... it's going to be a fucking amazing tour for the fans and we will do our best to do what we do best - which is rock out live and we hope to make some new friends along the way.
So to wrap it all up, I hope all our fans come out the Family Values tour to these shows and support Trivium - do that and we will deliver a balls-out-metal-as-fuck set to tear the fucker up (we're gonna mix it up and play songs we've never played before.)
You guys fucking rock. This tour is gonna be a big outdoor summer party- come out and rock out.
Love and metal
MKH”

Cant wait. I'll be at the dc show.
I'd love to hear some ember to inferno stuff that hasnt been played a lot, as well as some songs from the crusade that havent been played yet. I'd also cream myself if they played "departure".
I'll be there with you guys all the way \m/\m/
by the way, Korn is a guilty pleasure of mine, so I'll be there for them too.

QUOTE(awdboost @ Mar 31 2007, 09:33 PM) I wouldn't consider the knitting factory an offdate show. It was a secret show they basically did free for the fans and it was announced at the last minute. If they have a couple days off passing thru NYC I think they should do a show since this tour doesn't have a date here. c'mon guys the fans want it! Trivium has some of their best fans in NYC! Every time they've opened here they rivaled the headliners as far as crowd reaction goes.
Yes, exactly. NYC fans are just the best in the world.
