What do you all think of Job For A Cowboy?
I listened to their Doom EP ages ago and never really paid attention to them after hearing that for obvious reasons but just tonight someone sent me a link to one of their songs from 'Genesis' and wow, i must they sound pretty damn good compared to what they used to be. Still not exactly groundbreaking stuff but i was just sort of surprised that i even liked it and i'm liking the album more when i listen to it over again.

As you may remember, I in fact questioned your opinion several posts ago, when you said that age was a big factor affecting someone's ability as a frontman. I said that Bruce Dickinson is an outstanding frontman, despite his age.
Personally, I prefer Maiden to Metallica; I always have and I always will.
Yeah, that is so true, in my opinion Maiden rule but Metallica are just OK, You may havew noticed my previous post about Dickinson being 1.5 times as good as Hetfield but that's because I don't wanna be biased, personally I feel it would be around the 5 mark in real life but I didn't want Alcoholica to start ranting again, anyway Alcoholica, we are NOT all band whores here you know, we just like good music, and Ellie or Podgie, get him warned as I for one am getting fed up of his Snyde (Is that right) comments.
Anyway rant over, how the heck did Rob Halford and Ozzy Osbourne get left out in the whole frontman discussion anyway (Some people would kill for Ozzy's charisma factor trust me).

Dude, chillax.. It's cool, he knows to be a good boy.
On topic, Rob Halford, and Judas Priest are absolute legends.

Any frontman who can ride onto a stage on top of a motorbike has got to be metal of the highest caliber
People always mention the dual guitars of Dave Murray and Adrian Smith
But dont forget Glen Tipton and KK Downing

I dont believe Trivium or Sanctity have brought anything new to metal, just have taken whats already been done and made it somewhat worse and at times really enjoyable. Dragonforce on the other hand, havnt exactly reinvented the wheel, but have brought some original ideas.

I don't think metal is going through a "revival", it's been persistently good for many years.
However, some really great bands have emerged with incredible records over the past year or two. Sanctity, Mastodon, Gojira, Machine Head, and others are all doing some great shit. Mastodon has, in my opinion, one of the most original sounds in metal today.

I 100% argue your statement. The newer bands coming up (just about any new band) are bringing skillful musicianship and technicality back into the music. You remember grunge? You remember nu-metal? Extremely simple, lacking talent, crap music. Now I'm not saying that all nu-metal is talentless but most of the extremely popular stuff was. Bands like Trivium and Dragonforce are doing their best to take TALENTED music back into the mainstream of metal.
