Dragonforce on the other hand, havnt exactly reinvented the wheel, but have brought some original ideas.
Children of Bodom and Necrophagist... two very orignal bands.
Seriously, how many bands have a DAMN good keyboardist along with 2 awesome guitarists. Bodom has put together some great music and its too bad they aren't more well known.
And necrophagist... wow. some of the craziest guitar playing i have heard. Normally i would ignore them like any other death metal band because of the vocals, but the instrumental is so great, the death vocals just fit. Definitely some of the evilest music out there.

^ yeah necrophagist are a great listen, although some COB vary from brillance to blandness IMO.
hatebreeder is an astounding album while follow the reaper feels more confined and its just plain boring

I like the majority of Children of Bodom, however i tottaly agree that their songs vary from brillance to blandness..
Something Wild is an awesome album.

^ yeah its probably only follow the reaper which is the one i dislike, the other are all good

Yeah, there are a couple of decent tracks on there but i only really like 'Northern Comfort' from that album.

Dragonforce haven't brought anything new to metal at all. Power Metal bands have been doing that for years. The keyboards and effects thing may seem new but Children of Bodom were already playing with keyboards.
I agree with your point about Trivium and Sanctity though. They're just recycling ideas from years ago and making it more accessible.

Dragonforce did the whole video game stuff, which was completly new to me.

Follow the reaper is the best Bodom album.

It's just a play on what other bands have done though. It's not anything new.

^^ dude if you say that then its the same for every band then isn't it, dragonforce are different. Follow the Reaper is their best album...Something Wild is the shittiest really, maybe better than Hatecrew. Trivium haven't really introduced anything new, well in a way they have, but what they've done has attracted a lot of criticism saying that its not real metal...
