I never close my media player either, it's constantly playing, so that's gotta take a huge toll on my computer.
I just installed a trial version of AVG, and it's seemed to speed my computer up loads so far.

I've gotten used to 11 by now, but 10 was way superior.

true... but I always just hope that the latest one is going to be the best. It never is. I think I liked 9 the best.

Simple solution, don't! Stick with what you know best. I still use WMP 10, it works great.

My computer is slower than holy hell, and it's fairly brand new.
I don't download porn, I don't download music really, and I stay off of pretty much every site I can get a virus off of.
yet pressing a program requires about 2 minutes of wait before it actually opens up.
I'm pissed off to no end.

Jet audio is a great program. plays pretty much every type of file and isn't a cunt like WMP or iTunes

I have a usb modem, half of the time it disconnects after ive plugged it in for about 10 mins (power is still on but no dsl connection) and around 8/9/10 o clock it disconnects again. Ive tried everything in the troubleshooters guide and I still have the problem.

do you have it plugged into a usb mulitport thingy (tecnical term). cos sometimes they cant supply enough power and things get turned off really fast then back on. that might be disconnecting you. i had the same problem before. If you plug it into a usb port on the actually comp it woudl solve the prob..... Think it occurs when your trying to plug other stuff like an ipod for example into the multiport as well becuase the ipod charges through it and thus drains power.
