I finally picked it up yesterday from FYE after downloading it some months ago and I find I like it even more now that I actually own a copy. I guess after sitting down to listen to it and having a booklet with lyrics I can now differentiate between the songs more easily and really start to enjoy them. Love to see them do a headlining show and maybe play a song or two from it. Pillars of Serpents and If I Could Collapse The Masses are standing out as my favorites at the moment.

Ember was a killer album. It was quite brutal for me when I was listening to it. And to be honest i wasnt fond of it at all. Once my taste for metal matured I think it is such a great album and need way more credit.

Phew. Toughie. Once Shogun came out I kind of had trouble listening more to any of their other stuff simply because I am, in reality, not really a fan of growling/screaming. For some reason it works in Shogun because it's mixed with other vocal styles, which is awesome. I can't really name every song I like on ETI, but To Burn The Eye, Ember To Inferno and When All Light Dies are my favorites. Possibly Reqiuem and If I Could Collapse The Masses, too.
Shit I don't really know. I have to listen through the album again when I get back from work. Which is in.... 9 hours. Fuck. I mean 10 hours. Aww man...

"I've been having these weird thoughts lately... like... how did I get to this place!?"

Completely agree. Loads of people don't seem to have heard of Ember To Inferno. Hopefully with the guys playing more songs from it, it will encourage others to check it out.
My Ember To Inferno album came with a sticker on it saying;
"The now legendary debut album by one of the most talented and most talked about metal bands of the last years! This is the album it all started and a definite must have for all Trivium fans."
Completely agree with it. Songs like Fugue, Pillars, WALD, My Hatred, Requiem etc are all amazing. I have to say I do prefer Ember To Inferno live as on the album it sounds a tad too overproduced for my liking, but its still awesome nonetheless. :)
I haven't played it in a while. Time to rediscover it I think. :)

Whilst I do agree that ETI is wayy underrated I believe that Shogun also deserves plenty more credit as well, coz although ascendancy and crusade got a few awards, has Shogun recieved any? I'm not too sure is all
