I used to LOVE trivium from what I heard from ascendancy. I was over excited for the crusade to get let down harshly. Some songs were alright, and now after listening to shogun...Im not too impressed..., Some parts of the songs are really really good, but then the other verse vocals ruin it for me. Most of the choruses sound really good. The solos are good but not doing it for me, yes they are insane but they are just not the kind i like to hear. I got the Overcome Album by All That Remains and I can't stop listening to it. So I guess I'll keep listenin to shogun and see if any songs can "grow" on me...although I have already fallen in love with Overcome. It's the harsh vocals from the crusade that i didn't like the most that, and heavy parts that remind me of hatebreed (which i'm not a fan of) So overall, not completely hating the new album...just think I won't appreciate it as much as ascendancy (cause i was blown away by it). And of course, it is a good album, just i guess they are moving away from the style i prefer.
